Surprisingly, but despite such a powerful shift to electric vehicles, there are still a lot of businesses that haven’t installed EV charging stations. Well, does your business have (or provide) any EV charging facilities? Still no? Then, it’s high time to make a difference!
So read further to get a clear idea of why you need to install an EV charging station right now.
Indeed, running a business successfully is all around competition. First, it is competition on the sales market, where you act as a seller. Second, it is competition on the labour market, where you act as a buyer.
By providing EV charging facilities for your customers, you can catch their loyalty, turn them into your regulars. For the moment and, what is more important, for the future. Just because driving green will be the only trend in the near future.
By providing EV charging incentives for your employees, you can feed two birds with one scone:
So, get our public charging stations and increase your current and future competitive advantage on both markets.
To start with, applying for the OZEV (former OLEV) grant is a great solution for businesses that are going to install EV chargers for their employees. Currently, the Office for Zero Emission is funding up to 75% of EV chargepoint purchase and installation costs. Moreover, you can claim this grant for up to 40 sockets with the grant cap for each socket of no more than £350.
To go further, do you think this generous gesture will last forever? Definitely, now the Government encourages businesses to facilitate EV charging infrastructure development. However, when the infrastructure is sufficiently built, the Government contribution will become unnecessary. And you can see the telltale signs of this trend right now. To clarify, until April 2020, you could get up to £500 per socket. But now, you can get only £350. Perhaps, a few years later this grant cap will be even lower. Or nothing at all.
So, to conclude, install an EV charging station right now, while you can cut the associated expenditures by £350 with the OZEV grant.
