Think about the station type
To enjoy home EV charging, choose a residential car charging station that meets your EV charging needs in full. Here are a few questions to help you make the right choice:
- Do you need a portable, wall-mounted, or stand-equipped solution?
- What power output do you need? We offer both fast (22 kW) and superfast (over 32 kW) EV chargers.
- Has your car got a fast-charging port? If so, buy the I station to enjoy both AC and DC charging options.
Choose the location for the installation
Location matters. The best practice is to install a unit in a place where you will get easy access for your car.
Our products are suitable both for indoor and outdoor installation. Thus, you can install it in your garage or on your dedicated outdoor parking.
However, when choosing the location, consider your safety. We recommend leaving at least 2.5 metres between the unit and other electrical appliances.
Installation process
At Auto-E, we provide a turn-key installation for all EV chargers we offer in close partnership with LE Company, a reliable provider of engineering services and approved EV charger installer. We install home electric charging stations in London and all over the UK.
The installation includes an assessment of your power capacity, applying for permits to your network operator, and their notification about EV charger installation. The electrical certificate is provided.
Electricity required
Though some of our products can provide DC charging, all of them work from AC power supply. To clarify, our DC solutions have got a built-in AC/DC converter.
Most of our portable EV chargers are compatible with residential sockets. However, some of them require 32-A or 40-A industrial input.

Each unit of our domestic chargepoint lineup is fully compatible with your electric car due to flexible cable options. While the most common connector type for AC charging is Type 2, you can still choose Type 1 if you need it. For DC charging, we provide a CHAdeMO or CCS Combo cable option, which covers about 99% of market demand.
